I switched my landline to Ooma in 2009 and never regretted it. The service is reliable, the audio is excellent. I especially like getting voicemail files sent to my email. We have a summer and winter residence and carry the telo box when we migrate. On the road I forward the home number to my mobile phone. Ooma is a repudable firm that I am happy to recommend.

I had heard that Ooma Internet phones would provide clear unbroken transmission of voices during phone calls. Unfortunately that has not been the case for us. I have actually reverted to using my cell phone for important calls because I keep having people telling me that my voice is breaking up during conversation, or words are totally not coming through.or hard to understand due to static. Some days our Ooma phone works ok and for the most part the voice coming through is clear, but it’s hard to predict when it will be good. We have also had problems with some of our messages not coming through because some of the words or parts of numbers just didn’t come through clearly so they were missing or not understandable on the message. If I’m totally honest I am quite disappointed with the quality of the Ooma phone. I had told many of my friends about it but they are not interested now because they;be been on the phone with me and heard how much the conversation breaks up, etc. I have thought of calling to complain but I really didn’t know what could be done to make things better so I’ve just started using my cell phone for important calls.

We have been very pleased with the service overall. Occasionally there is an issue with making a call, but I am saving $30 a month and that is great!
Transfer landline number. If low-end user, file away ten spam numbers per contact.

Wisest move ever! The transfer fee to keep my old land-line number was worthwhile. The quality is superior over cable modem. As a low-end user, I am bummed that the spam-catcher is a premium service but since I NEVER answer my phone unawares, most of them hang up after 1 second. I collect the numbers that appear more than three times, 10 per contact. That way, when they call again, the word "SPAM" shows up as the contact name on both my phone's caller-ID and on 'myOoma' call log. I have a low-end Trakfone service for those rare times of a power outage that takes down my neighborhood. Since cloud-based, no caller knows I have power out and I get my calls when power restored. I often recommend this approach to beat the high costs of cell-phone carriers.

I have been impressed with the quality and service . But one major problem has been the speaker. There is none. Monthly price is great. Cost of machine is to high.
I have always wanted an alternative solution to replace my expensive At&t home phone service which I was paying almost $90.00 a month. If using the basic plan you only pay the tax for your area. However, you can upgrade to the premium member plan for $10.00 more to have access to special features like being able to block unwanted calls.I use my OOMA TELO with the wireless adapter which creates a 1 second delay during chat but I don't mind that. The audio from replaying messages is really low and hard to understand. As of recent, my device would suddenly stop working where we then have to unplug the power cord, wait a minute and re-plug the power adapter. Not sure why it does this out of nowhere.

After three months you're already ahead. I used to pay AT&T $35 per month plus tax. Lots and lots of tax. Instead I bought the telo for $99 and now I have service just as good as I used to have, but instead I pay $5 per month. This is a no-brainer.

I purchased Telo on line, however less than one year use, the voice mail is not functioning. Does not read the message from Telo. Requested to return but the product warranty is expired refused to replace it.

As a senior citizen on a limited budget I'm always looking for ways to save money. When I found out that I could buy an Ooma VOIP unit and only pay $3.50 a month compared to over $40 a month with our wireline provider, there was "no contest." And for a reasonable fee Ooma was able to port the wireline phone number we'd had for over 50 years as our Ooma number. In less than four months I'll have my Ooma investment all paid for.

Phone service basically has been good....people have told me sound quality is clear. I have had a couple of calls to drop or cut off.
