This is a great phone service. I cancelled my landline service with AT&T, and saved a fortune.

I don't see why everybody who have DSL or cable modem don't disconnect from Landline services, which are basically obsolete and outrageously expensive compared t the Ooma service.

I have had almost no trouble with my two Ooma Telos. I have been able to call and receive calls without fail. I did have trouble sending a fax with the Ooma Telo and I would like to get some tips to see if I am doing something wrong. The only other comment is that when I call someone, that person sees the Ooma phone number that was assigned to me instead of the number that I ported over to Ooma (my old number). It would be convenient if that could change so that people would know that it is my call, not someone unknown to them.

I live in Florida and summer in Canada. We paid $60 (US) a month for a land line in Ontario, and $28 in Florida. I now can make unlimited calls to North America for about $150 a year (including 911). I was wary of using VOIP, but I have had no issues with dropped calls or interference. I appreciate that friends in Canada can call me on my Ontario number (not long distance for them) and I receive the calls in Florida. I recommended Ooma to a friend with a similar homes situation and he is also very happy.

I put my unit after my router and not in between modem and router. No quality issues. Plugged main phone line in like previous expensive cable setup and all phone jacks in house were active just like before. I ported my old lan line number with no issue, used the Ooma app to set that number for what others see on caller-id. Works great!!

I made a good purchase. Thanks to OOMA explaining everything before buying. Set up easy.
Works well 80% of the time

As the title states, 80% of the time Ooma works well. The other 20% are dropped calls, metallic sounding vibration and stutter. Ooma support blames it on slow internet. Well, my internet is Google Fiber, extremely fast, so Ooma support is just plain wrong.

Ooma phone was working fine until I added the wireless device in USB port. All of a sudden, I do not have enough bandwidth according to customer service experts. Incoming calls or outgoing calls barely hear garbled messages. I can hear them fine but they can't hear me. Internet provider is to blame. Too many devices connected to the router could be the problem. Not enough bandwidth might be the cause. Internet provider should be told to devote more bandwidth to Ooma. Could it be the wireless device is garbage. It is funny that when Ooma telo is connected to the router everything was working fine. No problems with bandwidth or devices using the router. Strange!

So far I have been very happy with my phone. I lost the internet for awhile due to changing my service with my cable bundle service to just internet. Today I had an issue. A friend tried to call me and the message was that my phone was disconnected or not in use. When I got home, I received the same message when I called my Ooma phone from my cell phone. My internet was working, so I don't know what happened. My friend called the Ooma phone number again and it worked and is working now. I'm confused as to what happened.

My Ooma phone works better than the phone I had from my cable company.

Turns out the process of switching to Ooma from ATT U-Verse was clean. I initiated the porting process with Ooma and switched ATT from U-Verse Internet to ATT Internet. ATT closed the U-Verse account when the number was ported and opened the Internet account when the service tech switched the wiresThe service has been just fine so far..........
