How to Call Taiwan from the U.S.

Making an international call to Taiwan is easy.

To call Taiwan, you can use either your Ooma Telo-connect home phone or the Ooma Mobile app.

  • First, dial 011 to exit the U.S. telephone system.
  • Next, dial 866, Taiwan’s country code.
  • Now dial the local number, which is either 8 or 9 digits. Mobile numbers begin with 9.

Calls made through the Ooma Mobile app don’t use any minutes or incur international charges on your wireless bill. Instead, these calls are routed over your data connection and may count against your data allotment if you’re not on an unlimited plan with your carrier. Connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot to minimize data usage.

If you encounter any issues or have any further questions, feel free to get in contact with us via our Customer Support website at https://support.ooma.com/.

Calling Cards

Calling Taiwan with an international calling card is typically more affordable than using a standard phone line, but you also have to worry about the hassle of recharging them before use.

Ooma’s international plans are more convenient than charging cards and more affordable than standard rates, giving you the best of both worlds while also letting you speak to people from many global locations. That means you can talk to family in Taiwan and friends in Peru for as long as you want without having to worry about racking up a high phone bill.
