It’s okay if you want to be left alone without the potential distraction of the phone ringing. By forwarding all incoming calls directly to voicemail, Do Not Disturb will help you keep your attention wherever it belongs when you’re just too busy to take a call.

  1. Table of Contents

What is Do Not Disturb and how does it work?

When you turn on Do Not Disturb on your Ooma Telo Base Station or Phone Genie, you will forward all subsequent incoming calls to voicemail without ringing your phones. You can enable Do Not Disturb by pressing and holding either the fast forward button or the envelope button on your Ooma Telo Base Station or Phone Genie for two seconds. You can also press the DND button on an Ooma HD2 Handset or Ooma HD3 Handset, or you can dial *78 on a regular handset to turn Do Not Disturb on.

If the system status logo is purple or the envelope button is orange when you stop pressing, you’ll know your Telo Base Station or Phone Genie is in Do Not Disturb mode. If you have an HD2 or HD3 Handset, it will show a dnd icon icon on the status bar when Do Not Disturb is turned on.

How can I turn Do Not Disturb off?

You can turn Do Not Disturb off by pressing on either the fast forward button or the envelope button on your Ooma Telo Base Station or Phone Genie and holding it for two seconds. You can also turn Do Not Disturb off by pressing again the DND button on an Ooma HD2 Handset or Ooma HD3 Handset or by dialing *79 on a regular handset.

Is Do Not Disturb available to all users?

No. Do Not Disturb is available only to Ooma Premier subscribers.

Does Voicemail Monitoring work when Do Not Disturb is on?

No. If you have turned on Do Not Disturb mode, incoming calls will be sent directly to voicemail and will not be screened aloud on your Ooma device. You can still see when you have a new voicemail message by checking whether the play button is orange on your Telo Base Station or Phone Genie.

How do I know if my system is in Do Not Disturb mode?

You can tell that your Ooma Telo Base Station or Phone Genie is in Do Not Disturb mode when the system status logo is purple or the envelope button is orange. If you are checking the status of Do Not Disturb on an HD2 or HD3 Handset, look for a dnd icon icon on its status bar. You can also check whether Do Not Disturb is enabled by calling your Ooma phone number from an outside line to check whether the voicemail picks up right away without ringing your phone.
