BUILD YOUR SYSTEMThe Ooma Door and Window Sensor works with the Ooma Home Security Mobile App to alert you when your doors or windows are opened unexpectedly. Thissensor can be installed anywhere where an intruder may gain access to your home,including front and back doors, and any window. The sensor can also detect if adoor or window has been left open for an extended period and can alert you if itneeds to be closed.

The first time you set up the Ooma Door and Window Sensor, you willneed to pair it with your Ooma Telo Base Station. If you’re a first-time Ooma Telo customer,you can find out more about setting up your Ooma account by clicking here.
Once the sensor is paired, ensure that the tamper sensor is pressed down anddecide where you would like to install it. When you are deciding on the mountinglocation, make sure that the pieces will be mounted so that they separate eithervertically or horizontally when the door or window opens. If they separatelaterally, the sensor may not function properly:
Once you have decided on a mounting location, there are two differentinstallation methods for the Door and Window Sensor.
The two pieces of the sensor should be mounted so that when the door or window isclosed, the indented dots on the front of each sensor are no more than a ¾ inchapart. You should also ensure that the front of both pieces of the sensor are aseven as possible:
If necessary, you can attach additional risers (included) to raise the height ofthe magnet tab. You can choose the appropriate installation process for each ofthe two pieces of the sensor.
No. The sensor is not weatherproof, so it should be mounted indoorsin a dry location.
The wireless signal between the Door and Window Sensor and the Telocan be blocked by metals, so avoid mounting it directly onto a metal surface.
The Door and Window Sensor has a battery life of approximately 1.5years. You will receive a notification immediately when the sensor has a lowbattery. In addition, you will receive notifications via the Ooma Mobile appevery Wednesday and Saturday until the battery is replaced.
No. The Door and Window Sensor is designed to be powered by batteryso that it can be installed anywhere.
The Door and Window Sensor uses an LED light to indicate its status.Please see the chart below for more information about what each indicator typemeans:
You can use the Ooma Home Security Mobile App on your iOS or Android device to determine when the Door and WindowSensor is enabled and when it is not. You can also use the app settings to alertyou when the sensor has not been activated within a certain time frame. Thissetting is especially useful if you are expecting someone to return home at acertain time each day.
