With Google Voice and Obihai you receive the same level of service products that OOMA provides entirely for free. The Obihai unit costed $49 on Amazon, our return on investment was 3 months after moving away from OOMA. Bye OOMA!!
i get quite a bit of interference , i also don't understand why phoning to the US is long distance , i live in Canada , but u are in the US

The Ooma Telo was easy to connect and has worked just as I expected ever since I connected it. The voice clarity is as good as any land line. Glad I took the step.

The phone call quality isn't all that good. I've gotten several complaints from people I've spoken to that the sound is muffled. There is a noticeable delay in the connection which gets to be pretty annoying. When I set it up, I first had to select a new number before I could port my old number over. I now have my old number (it was successfully ported) but still when I call people, they see that the call is coming from the original number I had to select prior to porting my old number. This causes some confusion and makes no sense. Lastly, a few days ago, my Ooma stopped working. When I picked up the phone, there was no dial tone. I contacted "support" and eventually found that for some odd reason, I had to reboot the Ooma device. While that might not sound like a big deal (EVERYTHING seems to need rebooting these days), but I didn't EVER have to do that when I had AT&T or Charter. So for me, the service just ain't all that great. In fact, there's nothing great about it, except maybe the price. But I didn't purchase the service to get mediocre phone service, mediocre support, and mediocre call quality, even if it was inexpensive. I wanted quality service. I'd rather pay $20 month for good service.

I have called OOMA a couple of times and both times I got good service and the right answers. So far I am very happy with my system.
I wish I could give Ooma 5 stars. But I can't.

It's not that the phone doesn't work - it does, at least as far as I can tell. The permanent call forwarding feature of premium seems to work fine, so that I can give 5 stars. But the website is not as advanced as the phone systems. There's no doc on some products. (D3 handset) Other products are not out yet, even tho they have a "buy now!" button (smoke detectors). The "chat" service apparently hooked me up to a bot, and not a particularly intelligent bot, as it couldn't answer any of my questions (Ex: "are you a bot or are you a human?" No response after many minutes...)So I've got an Office working perfectly, and a Telo with a red light that won't go away. The site's Troubleshooting section: I'm actually amazed that someone actually had the nerve to call it that. No help whatsoever. Is it because there is no handset attached? Hrm, chat *would* have been nice. Wonder if I can use the Linx phones with Telo? Yes? No? Sorry, no definitive answer appears to be available.Next time, hire real people that speak English to do the chat. Might work a little better than
to my question.

I am hard of hearing so I know that I have to adjust the volume of almost every thing so I started with the settings. I set all the setting for volume to the highest possible including the handset. But when talking on the phone I can not hear most of the conversations. I have to ask the other person to repeat, repeat and repeat. Most people do not like to repeat more than once and not very often so I find it very difficult. I also experience a list d list calls due to the fact that that I have a problem hearing the conversationist. So much that I keep pressing the phone closer to my ear and end up hanging up on my subect. Do you have any cures for this. Because otherwise I really like this phone system.
Needs options like a answering machine, led display for messages, wall mount option, have a modle with a phone attached, ooma hasn't upgraded their design since we signed up 10 years ago. Love the phone service, would love to put people on hold and be able to pre record a message for those on hold to here. Want more options....
Nice, but needs a upgraded modle

I like ooma, but they have had the same ooma box for 8 years. It's time to make the black box more like a answering machine. Needs a Led display to see how many messages are unread, more convenient display on top of box. Flashing lights get confusing, need to be more direct like print on top of box what each color means and what it means when the ooma flashes so we dont have to pull out directions to trouble shoot when the unit is down....sell a unit that has a phone attached to the ooma box. Give us more options and more selections to choose from.. option to make it wall mountable would be nice to .

Getting acquainted with Ooma; it is unbelievably good. I am waiting for phone service data listings to refresh to list me with caller ID then will use the phone number far more.
