How long the number porting process generally takes

The amount of time a number port should take depends on several factors, including the type of carrier the number will be ported from and the number of lines that are being ported.

The chart below provides an outline of the length of time most common porting scenarios will take depending on whether your carrier is a VoIP provider like Vonage, a cell phone provider like Verizon or AT&T, or a landline provider like CenturyLink:
